As the Director of American Academy Casablanca, I would like to welcome you to our wonderful school. What started as a dream of our Founder and President Said Kouhaila more than 25 years ago has grown to an extremely high quality PreK-12th grade school whose graduates go on to attend the world’s best universities, many with scholarships. We have students and teachers from more than 40 countries who make up our community, and we continue to add new offerings and make improvements which better serve our families.
AAC’s approach is founded on two pillars that provide the base of all that we do. As an American school, we emphasize critical thinking and problem solving skills. Unlike other systems of education, we encourage students to think for themselves and to find the answers they seek on their own, under our guidance. Our children are challenged to go beyond their current abilities and beliefs, to stretch their current understandings and to grow as scholars and people. We offer a variety of subjects, but within each the focus is always on developing our students’ ability to think independently. Along with this, we also stress the importance of character, using our Five Core Values (Integrity, Excellence, Respect, Responsibility and Compassion) as a foundation to help build thoughtful and kind people to lead the next generation. Our team continually returns to our Values when working with our children, as we feel the heart is as important as the mind.
The 2024-25 school year promises to be our best yet. The school has continually evolved to better meet the needs of our children, and this year is no exception. Our addition of Spanish for secondary students has proved very popular and we will expand it as a choice this year. Our International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme starts the year with by far our biggest cohort yet. The IBDP not only offers the world’s best curriculum to its students but raises the standards of learning and instruction for the whole school. We continue to be accredited internationally by Cognia, the world’s biggest such group, and we are recognized by the Moroccan Ministry of Education as an official American school.
While AAC continues to grow and improve, we never lose sight of our most important aspect, our strong culture. Students, teachers and parents consistently report feeling welcome and happy with us. A school is a second home, and we do our best to support our children in their maturation, preparing them to be successful in university and in life. We welcome you to visit our campus and experience this for yourself, and we wish everyone an excellent 2024-25 school year!
