I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Deputy Director and Basketball Coach at the American Academy of Casablanca for the 2025–2026 school year. It is an honor to join a school with such a strong commitment to academic excellence, character development, and community values.
With over 32 years of experience in school administration, teaching, and coaching at the middle and high school levels, I bring a deep passion for education and student development. My educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in History and Spanish from the University of Iowa, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Aurora University, and, most recently, a Superintendent’s license from Edgewood College.
I come from a family deeply rooted in education and athletics—my wife, sister, and brother are all educators and coaches, and my children are pursuing degrees in Kinesiology and Medicine at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse and Madison. Outside of school, I enjoy coaching Varsity high school and Special Olympics basketball, raising poultry, and spending time in the great outdoors.
Joining AAC is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream to serve as an international educator and coach. I am especially inspired by AAC’s core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect, Responsibility, and Compassion, which closely mirror my educational philosophy. I share Director David Flaschberger’s commitment to nurturing both the hearts and minds of our students, and I look forward to contributing to AAC’s vibrant and inclusive learning community.
Thank you for welcoming me into the AAC family. I look forward to meeting and working with each of you in the coming months.
Respectfully,
Mike Giovingo
