Living in Morocco

Casablanca is often called the "United States of Morocco" as if a thousandm years of history had been brushed aside to let through a modern city. With almost 4 million people, it is one of Africa's largest cities and only the small, walled Medina still hints at the legend that celluloid once thrust upon her. However, today the city is the commercial and industrial centre of Morocco [], a truly modern city offering shopping, fine dining, nightlife and other cultural entertainment options. Morocco itself is a fairly tolerant country.  It's strong ties to France bring a rich history of a cosmopolitan culture mixed with Moroccan tradition.   Along the coast, there are lots of both private and public beach clubs, restaurants, and coffee houses.

Casablanca is also home to the Morocco Mall, the second largest shopping center in Africa.
