Welcome back Pumas! We are excited to kick off the 2022-23 school year.
This year promises to be a return to normal as the impact of Covid on our communities lessens. In our ECE and Primary divisions, we are excited to welcome parents back to more in-person campus events. The only masks our students will wear this year should be for Halloween. Based on feedback from families, we will be hosting a series of guidance workshops that focus on specific topics geared towards parenting.
Additionally, we will return to two semesters of our After School Activities (ASA) programming that will begin during the third week of school. To kick off the year, our upper primary students will have a unit on swimming, while our younger students will be introduced to Spanish weekly.
AAC continues to offer a lot of support for students who are new to learning English or who may struggle with instructional concepts. The most important thing families can do to ensure a student’s success is to ensure that students arrive at school on time, have a healthy snack, including water, and are present the majority of the year. When a student misses just two days of school each month, it negatively impacts their achievement both socially and academically.
This year, we look forward to working closely with all stakeholders to continue improving AAC as we strive to become the best international school in Africa.
Yours in education,
Sean Licata
