Letter from the Director
2022 and Beyond
American Academy Casablanca joins the rest of the world with (hopefully) putting the disruptions of the Covid Pandemic behind us. The school community is proud of how we handled the last two years, but we are ready to get back to normal. Our enrollment has begun to grow again, and it is wonderful to see new international families signing up for the coming year, after two years of closed borders. We welcome all families to come see what makes AAC so special, and to understand how we can prepare your child for a brighter future.
The most recent change to our educational programs was the addition of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in 2020. This past spring, we are happy to announce that every IBDP student received their IB Diploma, and they are now off to the top universities around the world. This school year, we begin the Council of International Schools (CIS) accreditation process. Currently, we are the only member of CIS in Morocco, and we hope to achieve the prestigious CIS accreditation after their visits. The first time will be in October, and we are confident the CIS team will see our wonderful school environment in action.
AAC also has other exciting additions to our organization. This year we will reopen our Oasis campus, where it all started years ago, as an American elementary school. Families in that neighborhood will now have a great option for their child’s education. We are also beginning an Online Learning Program, for secondary students. The pandemic taught us a lot about what is possible, and we will offer a full American diploma program to grades 6-12.
We would like to thank our entire school community for all the support we receive. It is a true joy to work with students, staff, parents and board members who care about education and want the best for our children. If you have any questions about our school, please feel free to contact us.
Best regards,
Dave Flaschberger
Head of School/Secondary Principal
